Why humidity makes hair frizz

Hair that is dry or damaged (from colour, bleach or heat styling) pulls moisture from the air. Each strand swells unevenly and the cuticle lifts, which is what you see as frizz.

On a typical 80%+ humidity day, that happens within minutes of leaving air-con. Serums and oils are designed to coat the strand so it takes up less moisture. They don’t stop humidity completely, and none of them is permanent.

How to apply anti-frizz products

1. Apply on damp hair, not soaking wet. Towel-dry first so the product doesn’t just drip off.
2. Start small. One pump of serum or oil is enough for shoulder-length hair. Add more only if the ends still feel rough.
